Meet our Partners: Sullivan's Toy Store & Art Supplies
I am beyond excited to announce that you'll soon be able to find the Imagine Plush Bee in my neighborhood toy store — the one I walked to with my parents every chance I got, all though elementary school.
I still have what my parents insist are way too many Sullivan's purchases tucked in every corner of my house — including a large number of plushies (surely you're not surprised?), and a cabinet full of art supplies.
The high-end art department, which offers discounts for college art students, is one of the things that makes Sullivan's unique, said Sullivan's buyer Joe Guevara.
"But if there's one thing I want people to know about Sullivan's, it's this," Guevara added. "We wouldn't be anywhere without our customers. The most important thing to us has always been our customers, specifically our neighborhood."
He tries hard to get to know the neighborhood kids and their parents, Guevara said, so that when he heads to the New York Toy Fair every year to pick out new toys (his favorite part of being a buyer!), he knows who he's buying for.
